Q: Where are the coaching calls held?
A: Coaching calls are held on Zoom. You will be sent a link. Join at your chosen time and I will meet you there!
Q: What do I need to bring with me to the call?
A: Print the 1 Hour Coaching Call Workbook to make notes. You’ll receive a link for your workbook download to print.
Q: Does my child need to attend the coaching session?
A: No, but you are welcome to have your child join while we practice hand motions for sounds in words.
Q: Do you give refunds?
I’ve worked hard to ensure simple phonics skills shared during our coaching hour will get you and your beginning reader off to a great start! In lieu of refunds, please reach out and I’ll see how I can help!
Q: How do I know this will work for me and my child?
A: I am formally trained in phonics instruction for beginning readers (K-2). During my 10+ years of classroom experience as a reading and writing teacher for kids ages 4-7, I have seen kids progress as readers, regardless of their literacy background.
Q: Do I need any teaching experience?
A: You’re a mom! You already have plenty of teaching experience! I believe you are capable of learning simple phonics strategies to model and practice with your child. I will show you how!
Q: I feel a little intimidated to meet with a phonics teacher online.
A: It’s just me, Melanie! I am friendly and approachable. I want to help. I don’t expect you to be a whiz with phonics terms and strategies…yet!
Q: What if I need to reschedule?
A: I understand that you are a busy mom, and life happens. Kids get sick, you get sick, the unexpected occurs. However, please make your best effort to meet at your chosen time. Send me an email as soon as you can if you must reschedule.
