3 FUN Phonics Games for Kindergarten!

FUN Phonics Games for Kindergarten

Elementary teacher, Zeba McGibbon of the Kindergarten Cafe, shares 3 fun phonics games for Kindergarten!

  1. I SPY…a fun phonics game for Kindergarten when working on beginning letter sounds. For example, “I spy something that begins with the letter ‘t’, /t/. ‘I Spy’ compliments any phonics curriculum!
  2. SWAT the SIGHT WORDS – Zeba ups the engagement with fun phonics games in Kindergarten with ‘Swat the Sight Words’! Sight words (UFLI heart words) are written in large letters on a plastic tablecloth and laid out on the floor. One student is given a fly swatter and ‘swats’ the words as quickly as he can with the fly swatter!
  3. PHONICS BUMP! If you’ve been looking for FUN phonics games for Kindergarten, this game is a gem! High-engagement, LOW PREP – print and play. AND, each printable gameboard exactly matches each lesson inside my printable Kindergarten Phonics Curriculum! Students can’t wait to BUMP each other OFF THE BOARD. Spelling recording sheet included for student accountability (and spelling practice of course)!
